Fire Protection Engineering Specialist
Description

R.E.M. Risk Consultants, LLC (“R.E.M.”) is seeking a fire protection engineering specialist to assist in its thriving fire protection consulting practice. R.E.M. is a fire protection, safety, and occupational health consulting firm that delivers science-based solutions to assist clients with ensuring business continuity.

R.E.M. is seeking applicants with academic preparation in fire protection engineering or engineering technology or similar areas with a quantitative science and engineering emphasis.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology with an emphasis in fire protection.
  • 0-4 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards published by the ICC, and NFPA.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Open to relocate to Dallas, Texas or the DFW Metroplex.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial loss control, fire protection design/engineering, and/or process safety.
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in fire protection from Cal Poly SLO, Eastern Kentucky University, Lund University, Oklahoma State University, University of California Berkeley, University of Edinburgh, University of Maryland, University of North Carolina Charlotte, or Worchester Polytechnic Institute is preferred.
  • An interest in becoming licensed as a professional engineer.
